Description

Antioxidants, that support immune function and have been used to act as anti-yeast, anti-fungal, antibacterial, anti- viral, anti-inflammatory and parasite inhibitor, have been selected for this formulation. Antioxidants for years have been accepted to support skin health, circulatory and respiratory systems, as free radical fighters, to promote prevention and to be used when symptoms appear.

Oregano, Deodorized Garlic and Grapefruit Seed are the two mainstays in this product. Oregano has been widely studied. The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (November, 2001) reported the results of a Chinese study indicating that Oregano is stronger than many other antioxidants, including Vitamin E. It contains rosmanaric acid (stabilizer), phenolic compounds (antimicrobial), thymol (antiseptic), carvacrol (fungicidal), Flavonoids, Vitamins A, C and Niacin, and minerals (including potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, boron, manganese and copper). These are just a few of the phytonutrients contained oregano. This combination gives support for respiratory, digestive, and other body systems. It has been used in the international marketplace as an infection fighter and used to kill pain with its anti-inflammatory action.
Studies have shown that oregano and other spice extracts kill yeast, bacteria, fungi, virus and mold. The side effects of nystatin drugs are well known. This natural combination that may kill yeast does not have these same side effects. In test tube trials, Oregano was 100 times more effective than Caprylic Acid against Candida.

While Garlic may be known best for supporting breast feeding moms, as an antioxidant in colon and other cancers, reducing risks from atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides and used regularly and for hundreds of years for the common cold, it is also known to be used today for candidiasis, infections, parasites, peptic ulcers, and for support in HIV cases. It has demonstrated antifungal activity in en vitro studies and in those studies its activity was greater than nystatin. No clinical studies have been conducted, only en vitro studies.

Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) has been tested en vitro extensively as an antimicrobial. In laboratory test, GSE has shown its ability to inhibit the growth of virus, fungi, bacteria, and parasites. In testing against other substances such as colloidal silver, isopropyl alcohol and chlorine bleach, GSE has been found to be a superior antimicrobial. It contains a range of Flavonoids and polyphenols including hesperidin, camppherol glycoside, quercitin, naringin, rutinoside, poncirin, neohesperidin, apigenin and others. Some of the infections that GSE is becoming used for by natural practitioners of holistic and alternative care medicine include colds, flu, candida yeast, protozoan infections, and other microbial infections.
