Ashwaganda – Ashwaganda is an Indian herb used for centuries to reduce stress. It is considered a rejuvenation herb. Acting as an adaptogen, it is used on disorders of the nervous system, to boost energy, reduce Cortisol level, promote the reduction of depression and anxiety, promote better sleep, and to prevent nerve damage. Studies have now been done and this shows promising results for prevention of the over use of anti anxiety drugs.
Bacopa Monnieri – Golden seal contains berberine, canadine and hydastine. These alkaloids are antimicrobial and antifungal agents.
GABA – GABA facilitates neurotransmission … the brain uses it to promote communication between cells. It calms the mind and reduces anxiety, making you more relaxed. Many people have a deficiency in GABA. This formula uses GABA and uses other ingredients to support the formation of GABA. When you lack enough GABA you may be anxious, feel overwhelmed and may not be able to relax. GABA takes care of excess adrenaline and in todays modern world of being “on” all of the time, this is a common problem for many.
If you feel anxious, cannot relax, feel like there is a knot in your stomach, or like you have gotten nothing done all day even though you are so busy, if your heart is pounding, if your thoughts race, and if you are constantly reaching for energy drinks, sugary and high carb foods or drugs and alcohol, you may have this deficiency. Many with low GABA have anxiety disorders, depression, fibromyalgia, migraines and may not be able to sleep. There are many other disorders linked to the lack of GABA that are much worse, such as bipolar disorder, epilepsy, autism and others.
Glycine – Glycine is an amino acid it is considered the peacekeeper in the body. It has a calming effect and promotes inhibition to promote balanced activity in the brain. There are receptor sites in the spinal cord and brain for Glycine. For those who may have blocked receptor sites from chemicals, hormones, or for other reasons we suggest taking one bottle of I3C with DIM when you first take this product. It is very important for us to have clear sites at all times for the body to function normally. Legumes, fish, meat, dairy, seafood, some veggies and seaweed are high in Glycine.
Inositol – Inositol, a simple carbohydrate found in the brain & central nervous cells, metabolizes fats & cholesterol & aids in transporting fat in the blood system. It is required for proper formation of cell membranes, aids in the redistribution of body fat, the lowering of cholesterol levels, is implicated in improving the transmission of neural signals in diabetics, is a member of the B-Complex group & is a lipotropic agent. Anxiety can be reduced.
L-Tyrosine – When we are stressed certain hormones called catecholamines may be sapped from out body. L-Tyrosine may counter this by increasing norepinephrine which may help us improve under stress. The amino acid may improve our response to stress, heat, cold, fatigue, lack of sleep, long hours etc. It may increase our cognitive performance.
Mucuna Pruriens – Doctors around the world use this herb to reduce stress, improve memory and focus, increase attention spans and use it for those with Parkinson’s. It works by increasing dopamine levels because L Dopa is a major compound found in this herb. An enzyme in the blood converts that to dopamine, thus reducing depression.
Passion Flower Extract 4:1 – Passion flower (passiflora) is approved in Europe by the German Commission E to treat insomnia and nervousness. It is beneficial for tension headaches, irritability, anxiety, insomnia, and may regulate neurotransmitters to help the body and brain balance and communicate. Actually over 80% of people in the US have too much stress or have unhealthy diets. This may all affect mood.
PEA – PEA (phenylethylamine) is a naturally occurring neurohormone/neurotransmitter (chemical signal messenger between nerves) that’s normally synthesized in the brain from the amino acid phenylalanine. PEA has the unique ability to increase the activity of the major neurotransmitters and improve your life functions. PEA increases the effects of dopamine (for wellbeing and feeling pleasure) and is an immediate shot of “euphoric pleasure, bliss and emotional well being,” even during those stressful times. It stimulates norepinephrine (the brain’s stimulant for wakefulness and higher performance), acetylcholine (for improving memory and mental activity), and serotonin (for better mood emotion and impulse control). PEA is a highly-concentrated neurotransmitter that increases motivation, physical drive, feelings and social activity.

Phosphatidylserine – Cortisol is produced by the adrenal glands and is a natural hormone, called the stress hormone. Many people have high levels of this, which can cause anxiety and weight gain. While phosphatdylserine does not directly affect the adrenal glands, it does help lower cortisol through a pathway of the brain. It has been shown as effective for lowering stress.
Rhodiola Rosea – This adaptogen herb is also known as passiflora. In Europe it has become widely used to help with insomnia, nervous disorders and anxiety. The German Commission E has approved it for use in treating insomnia and nervousness. May be helpful in treating irritability, burn out, chronic stress and tension headaches as well. While this herb is not as effective as some medications, it is better tolerated. One known side effect is that it may reduce blood pressure.
Taurine – Taurine is an amino acid that Glycine and GABA needed for the brain which promotes a reduction in anxiety. It may also reduce the harmful effects of too much glutamate.
Valerian Root – Valerian root may have properties that can be used to treat anxiety and may translate into GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) in the body, which is a neurotransmitter. Increasing GABA promotes lower stress and helps you relax. It is a type of herbal sedative if you will.
